SANDY CASTLE MISSION!

"SANDY CASTLE 2013 MISSION"
JENKINSONS BEACH, PT.PLEASANT

Last Mother's Day, Little Hands Connected was part of the SANDY CASTLE 2013 project at the Jersey Shore!  Our Team of 17, including participating LHC members and their parents, helped to build the sandy base for sculptor Ed Jarrett's attempt at the worlds LARGEST SANDCASTLE!

It is
estimated that over 4,500 volunteers and organizations helped Ed Jarrett with this volunteer effort, and Little Hands Connected was so excited to be a part of it!!! One hundred percent of the money raised from viewings of the sandcastle, which was completed in July, have been donated to Hometown Heroes for distribution to those still in need of relief from Hurricane Sandy.

Ollie -8, Abby-5, Sophie-6, and Blake-3, Ava-6, Emma-6, Julia-3, Aidan-10, and Ava-5 teamed up to do BIG things to help with the Sandy Castle project!

We all had a great time with eachother and our families, while making a difference... one bucket at a time, so when Little Hands Connected had the opportunity to help again, we jumped right in!!!

On September 22, 2013, The Little Hands Connected team headed back to the Jersey Shore to volunteer for the Sandy Castle - Second Edition! Although the original "Sandy Castle" was AMAZING and  raised A LOT of money to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy, Ed Jarrett did not break his Guinness World Record due to circumstances out of his control.  With the Sandy Castle - Second Edition, Ed made another attempt to break his world record to continue to raise money for this worthy cause.

Our team members Hunter-8, Chase-4, Julia-9, Ollie-8, Abby-6, Julia-3, Emma-6, Ava-6, Jackson-8, Charlie-6, Sammy-3, Savannah-5, Jack-6, Jordan-10, and Alex-8 grabbed shovels, filled & carried heavy buckets, and worked as a team to make a difference and help others! After we finished our mission, we had a picnic on the beach, played in the sand, and visited the board walk!

We were so excited to have the opportunity to help with this project again, and we are now excited to share with you that ED HAS BROKEN HIS GUINNESS WORLD RECORD AGAIN, with his "SANDY CASTLE- SECOND EDITION!"  Great Job Ed! Thanks for letting Little Hands Connected be a part of your amazing Hurricane Relief Effort!

THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR AMAZING VOLUNTEERS!
YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE!!!
